Winter has been clinging on for dear life this year, but spring and summer sunshine cannot be too far away now, so it could be time to swap your warm jumpers for a new wardrobe.
The Met Office’s long-range weather forecast has predicted frost and fog will remain in parts of Scotland until the end of April, with unsettled weather in other areas as well.
However, it noted warm sunshine will appear during daytimes, and things will begin to settle down as May approaches.
Despite “changeable spells of weather” at the start of next month, it has predicted: “Temperatures are most likely to be above average overall for the time of year.”
Therefore, it won’t be long before you can do away with your woollen cardigans and thick winter coats and slip on summer dresses, shorts and T-shirts instead.
The change in seasonal clothes could encourage many homeowners to consider what to do with their current storage solution, and they may be tempted to hang their summer outfits up in a brand new built-in wardrobe in their Aberdeen home instead.
Of course, the bigger the closet, the more clothes you can fit in it, and this could mean being able to store both winter and summer gear in one place. With the weather as unpredictable as it has been recently, this would be a good idea, enabling you to have something suitable to wear whatever is going on outside.
Last year, the mercury exceeded 40C during a summer heatwave, while they also dipped to below -17C in Aberdeenshire at the end of the year, showing just how extreme British weather has become lately.
